Prisma might still not have introduced the video filter feature, but a new app called Artisto will do just that. So if you were waiting to convert your videos into works of art, then try Artisto. The app is available on Android and iOS. Artisto has been created by Russian website Mail.ru, and according to Russia Beyond the Headlines (RBTH), it is now available in all countries on the App Store and GooglePlay Store. However, it looks like Artisto has not yet been unveiled for India as we couldn’t find it either on App Store or Play Store.
Artisto, just like Prisma, relies on neutral networks to convert media into works of arts, following the styles of Van Gogh and Picasso. Artisto supports only 10-second videos. For longer videos, users can choose the 10-second part they want to apply the Artisto filter on.
Artisto app, however, appears to have a limited number of filters and UI. According to an Engadget report, Artisto has only a few filters that appear not to work at times. Just like Prisma where filter can take some time to apply, Artisto appears to have the same problem. Also the app crashed several times, adds Engadget though the results were quite impressive.
The RBTH report adds that Anna Artamonova, Mail.ru VP, posted on Facebooksaying it took 8 days for the company to develop the app. “We decided to play with neural networks, which have become increasingly popular, and ventured to create a video-editing app,” she wrote. “Well, here it comes. It took us 8 days to develop this app,” added Artamonova.
Prisma is one of the most popular photo-editing apps right now. It is available for iOS and Android. Just within days of its launch on iOS, it crossed 1 million users, thanks to its artistic filters. Prisma co-founder and CEO Alexey Moiseenkov recently hinted the company is working on new features, including filters for videos. He posted a Facebook Live video with a black and white Prisma filter.
